As you are all aware the Monday blues scenario has been around for centuries I am fairly certain, it has definitely been said around me from such a young age and it always seems to be the chosen topic on a Sunday eve… Well to be quite frank I am sick to the bones stuck into the back of my teeth of hearing people whine and moan on about the approaching start of a new week, instead why not embrace it and use it to plan what you want to accomplish and achieve throughout the week and let it instead be a day of inspiration like I do?!?

Within only a few hours I had found new outlets, styled myself for this shoot , got to learn more about my new baby toy camera, however MR MX took over whilst I was on setting up .. so the pictures aren’t the best quality but thought it would be easier someone else taking them for me for a change.

The Story
Nowadays, most men will wear a flower on the lapel of their jacket only a handful of times in their life… and this is a shame. Nothing adds the finishing touch to a man’s appearance like the confidence embodied in wearing a stylish buttonhole. Many of us have had a buttonhole flower forced upon us, either at a school prom for a photograph or at a wedding where we had it pinned upon us at the last minute before the ceremony. These pins can break the threads and permanently damage your garment, which is certainly not the best way to introduce you to this potentially stylish menswear accessory, so let’s hit the reset button and try this again!
Take one young urban entrepreneur (that’s me) and the innovative idea of taking a classic accessory and redesigning it for modern day life, and let me introduce ColourBuds! What began as a fun idea and a single bespoke order for a friend’s wedding slowly emerged as a potential business, especially with the trend of men becoming increasingly more conscious of their style and appearance.
ColourBuds are a colourful, fresh, and contemporary alternative to the traditional button-hole or lapel pin. My goal is to establish ColourBuds as a distinguished, yet vibrant piece within every man’s wardrobe. They are the perfect solution to stand out from the crowd in a subtle, yet fashionable manner. ColourBuds are ideal for weddings, school proms, black tie events, coordinating with your significant other or simply just looking stylish. These little treasures can instantly transform any jacket, sports coat or blazer with the simple fastening of a button!
Made from 100% British wool felt, ColourBuds are handcrafted with style, durability and quality in mind. Initially available in ten different colours, they can be used to co-ordinate OR make a statement.. either way they are sure to turn some heads! Each ColourBud is shaped to around 4cm in diameter, however as each is individually crafted by hand, there will be some variations in shape and size of your unique ColourBud.. just like flowers in nature!
How To Wear A ColourBud
The button attachment design of ColourBuds not only saves the damage to your garment from pins, but also allows you to change the colour of your bud in an instant. Simply pop the button into your button hole and you’re good to go! (Some suits may still have the lapel button closed, this was so that it did not interfere with the tailoring process, similar to the thread holding the pocket square pocket closed. It can be opened easily by removing the small thread holding it together with a pick.)
Wear it with confidence. At a black tie event, a flower will not be frowned upon. Likewise at a professional business meeting; a man with a flower in his lapel stands out and shows real flair for appearances.Think also about your work environment; if you wear a suit or jacket every day, a flower in the lapel will show some real verve. In nature, from a lion’s mane to a peacock’s feathers, alpha males in the wild know the importance of standing out from the crowd.
Flowers Are For Girls.
Flowers are for girls you say? They were originally worn by warriors, soldiers and kings heading to war as a symbol that extends far beyond a flower. Flowers are a symbol of life, of beauty in nature and a reminder to live in this moment before it’s gone.
In fact, buttonhole flowers themselves were invented by Prince Albert himself who was famously presented with a small bouquet from Queen Victoria on their wedding day. He made the big gesture of cutting a hole in his lapel right there and then, and put the flowers in the lapel. From then on he had his tailor put the hole is all of his jacket lapels.. it doesn’t get more masculine than that!
Why ColourBuds?

Week 1: Create cutting tools and purchase equipment and machinery.
Week 2-3: Production process begins.
Weeks 4: Quality check to make sure each ColourBud is perfect.
Week 5: Carefully package and ship your ColourBuds out to you!
Why is There a Penguin in your Video?
Well spotted! I’d like to introduce you to Tux, my dapper assistant. He will supervise the ColourBud manufacturing process and conduct quality checks if we reach our target. If not, I’ll have to send him back to Antarctica and that would make him VERY sad. You wouldn’t do that to little Tux, would you?
I know that you probably can’t wait to get your hands on your ColourBuds and as a result I’m placing an extremely HIGH importance on the quick delivery of the fantastic rewards to all of my backers. I have already identified the time and resources needed to complete this project, however should the project exceed these allowances I have already established strong relationships with larger specialist manufacturers who have already assisted in the initial design and prototyping process of ColourBuds and have production capabilities which vastly exceed my own.
